Alex M. Winsor – I am a PhD candidate in Elizabeth Jakobs lab at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. My research broadly focuses on understanding how animals actively use their senses and why sensory systems are so exceptionally diverse. I use spiders which divide their vision across different functional sets of eyes to investigate the evolution of their visually guided behaviors and distributed visual systems.
